The after school art program is a series of four six-week sessions that offer students the opportunity to create session specific hands on projects.
Classes are held once a week after school under the instruction of Susan Reid.
First, Second and Third Grade Program • Mondays The third session projects include an introduction to the process of papermaking, and making paper bowls from the pulp. The students will also receive an introduction to printmaking through monoprinting and styrofoam plate printing.
Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Grade Program • Wednesdays The students will learn the process of papermaking and then pull their own sheets of paper. In the second half of the session, they will be making prints using a process similar to silkscreen printing. Time permitting they will carve a small design in a rubbery print plate and make prints with it.
Please watch for further information. The first session of the 2009-10 school year is coming soon.
