1 Million Rosaries for Unborn Babies
On Friday May 7, Little Flower School will participate in the One Million Rosaries for Unborn Babies campaign. The effort is designed to pray one million rosaries in hopes of ending abortions. Each Little Flower student will participate by praying one rosary. You can make a pledge to say a rosary by visiting www.SaintMichaelTheArchAngelOrganization.org and signing up or by stopping by the office and obtaining a pledge sheet.
May Crowning, Friday May 7th
Our annual May Crowning will be held on Friday May 7th at 2:30 p.m. in the Church. The ceremony will be led by our 8th graders who will be on the verge of receiving the sacrament of Confirmation and by our 2nd graders who will have a few days before received their First Communion. We ask that all of our students bring a flower for the ceremony to present to our Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. The flower does not have to be purchased at a florist, it can be a wildflower. The students will present the flowers at the beginning of the ceremony. We invite
families and friends to join us for the ceremony.
April Charity (Make A Wish Foundation)
The April charity was the Make A Wish Foundation. For day we raised $79. Please remember that when your child brings in money they are not only earning the right to wear play clothes, but much more importantly they are supporting a worthwhile charitable organization. You can feel free to donate larger amounts than what is asked as you are supporting wonderful organizations. The charities that we have supported throughout this year have been the St. Patrick’s Center, the Maggie Welby Foundation, the Chromosome NP- Foundation, Sophie’s Kiss, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, St. Vincent De Paul Society, and now the Make A Wish Foundation.

Thank You To Pat Williams and Maggie Storey!
Recently our school and parish passed our Archdiocesan audit. The audit examined our record keeping and our programs ensuring that volunteers and employees have undergone background checks and Protecting God’s Children training. Little Flower passed the audit with flying colors thanks to Pat Williams and Maggie Storey. Thank you ladies for all of your hard work and dedication to our parish, school, and most importantly to our children. New School Board Members
The voting is complete and the results are in. We have three new school board members for the 2010-2011 school year. The three new members are Ken Cheney, Shawn Thomason, and Matt Verzino. Congratulations to these three new board members and thank you for your service to our school. We would also like to thank the three board members that will leave the board at the end of this school year. These members are School Board President Lori Franke, Joe Elfrink, and Donna Patton. Thank you to these three individuals for their service to our school.
2nd Grade First Communion
On Saturday May 1 at 5:00, the 2nd grade students at Little Flower made their First Communion. The students were excited and it was a huge step in their sacramental journeys as Catholics. We were pleased to have the Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York preside over the Mass. If you see these students please congratulate them and let them know that we are all supporting and praying for them as they reached this milestone.

Helpers Of God’s Precious Infants
Did you know that abortions are performed only 8 blocks away from our Cathedral Basilica? First reactions to this might be shock, outrage, or sadness. Rather, this close proximity of good and evil is a great opportunity for hope and change. Helpers of God’s Precious Infants can help to make this happen. On the third Sunday of every month, you are invited to the 8:00 a.m. Mass and prayer vigil at the Cathedral Basilica. After Mass, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed for Adoration. All who are able are invited to pray the rosary during a peaceful procession to the abortion facility at Forest Park and Boyle. Upon return to the Cathedral, all participate in Benediction. The event concludes at 9:45. For more information contact Maureen Kane at 647-6019.
How Often Do You Shop Online? My guess is that like myself, many of you shop online frequently. Little Flower School has partnered with an organization called School Mall. This company will allow you to shop at many of your favorite merchants, while earning money for our school. Information was home on Tuesday March 2 in the Tuesday Packet. If you are interested please fill out the information and return it as soon as possible or stop by the office to complete a registration form.
Easy Fundraising For Little Flower
How often do you use Search Engines? My guess is that you use them often. You can raise money for our school while completing your searches. Use www.goodsearch.com and you can support our school. They give 1 cent for every search that is made. Over the course of a year this could translate to hundreds of dollars for our school.
