Little Flower Newsletter 1-17-12 Snow Day Procedures With our latest dose of winter weather and the yo-yo temperatures we have been experiencing, it is important for us to be reminded of any “snow day” or cancellation procedures. Normally on a morning with bad weather, any potential cancellation or move to snow schedule will occur no later than 6:30 a.m. I would like to apologize, that last Thursday Jan. 12 the call did not take place until just after 7. Please remember that you will receive a Calling Post message on the phone (one phone) designated as your primary number. The call comes from a 405 area code out of Oklahoma. In addition to the call, cancellations or schedule changes will appear on news channels 2,4, & 5. A final means of communicating changes will be the Fast Direct system. Catholic Schools’ Week and Open House Coming Soon! On Sunday Jan. 29 we will have our monthly children’s liturgy mass at 10:30 a.m. Following the mass, we will have our “open house” for new and existing school families. Please invite any potential new families to attend our open house. In addition, the Men’s Club will prepare a breakfast for all attendees. LF Student(s) participating in dangerous game It has been brought to my attention that at least one of our students has been participating in a game known as “ding-dong ditch.” This game involves a doorbell being rung and the individual(s) ringing the bell running off before being discovered. A parent that had this done to them by a LF student was concerned for the safety of that individual student, considering they don’t know if the person in the home is armed or dangerous in anyway. After School Dismissal Procedures We would like to take the opportunity to remind everyone of the after school dismissal procedures. When arriving to pick up your child after school please park on the lot and do not block the exits on the street. You may either wait at your car for you child to be released to the car or you may come to the dismissal area and wait for your child. Please do not block the door that the students dismiss from. No one is to be moving to and from cars once the 8th grade patrols have moved the signs from “go” to “stop.” In addition, no one is to be on the playground area until the cars have exited the lot. Please remember that it is important that we all know and follow these procedures in order to ensure the safety of all of our students. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance. Thought For The Week "Keep away from small people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.” (Mark Twain) |
