Little Flower Newsletter 2-22-10

Join Cub Scouts-Don’t get left out of the Fun
We are interested in identifying families that are willing to share leadership needed to reorganize our Cub Scout program. The aims of scouting are citizenship training, character development and physical fitness. We need at least five adults and a minimum of five boys in order to get our charter restarted.  The program is family centered , it focuses on core values, such as, cooperation, faith, respect, responsibility thru the use of service projects, ceremonies, games, skits, crafts and songs and all the other activities enjoyed at den and pack meetings. Scouts can also work on religious awards. Participating in fun activities with friends and families is what keeps scouts coming back for more. The Fun and adventure of Scouting awaits you.

Please contact, Mr. Baird, principal at 314-781-4995 or through a Fast Direct message if you want your son to participate and you are able to help.

Little Flower Book Fair A Success!

Thanks to all of the Students and Parents who supported our book fair this year. The book fair raised enough money to cover the cost of the Library software that was needed, with a little money left over to buy some books that were also needed for the Library. Paige Cundy would like to thank everyone who volunteered at the book fair, you're help was much appreciated.

Easy Fundraising For Little Flower

How often do you use Search Engines?  My guess is that you use them often.  You can raise money for our school while completing your searches.  Use www.goodsearch.com and you can support our school.  They give 1 cent for every search that is made.  Over the course of a year this could translate to hundreds of dollars for our school.

Shoe Drive, Get Rid Of Those Old Smelly Shoes

Want to help needy people around the world?  Want to make your house smell better and become more organized?  We have a way for you to do both.  The shoes are recycled at $0.35 a pound.  This money is taken by Pastor George Hutchings to help the poor and needy around the world.  For more information go to www.shoeman.org.  This is the final week of the drive, so if you are able please contribute to this wonderful cause.

Reminders About Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

Morning Drop-Off

Arch Terrace is a one-way street going south. If children are dropped off on the east curb, children should exit on the left side of the vehicle. When cars stop in the middle of the street or on the west curb, students must exit their vehicles on the right side of the car and proceed down the sidewalk to the crossing guard. Parents may not drive onto the parking lot under any circumstances. No cars are allowed on the parking lot during the school day, except in the case of a funeral.

Dismissal

Students who walk home exit the building by the rear doors nearest the church and walk straight to Arch Terrace or walk between the school and church to Boland Place. Students who ride home in cars exit the building through the rear north doors. Patrol boys and girls will direct students to their cars. Any child not picked up within ten minutes after dismissal should return to the school office to call a parent and wait. A late fee is assessed for these students, based on time of pick-up. This includes mid-day dismissal for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students.

Dismissal Pick-Up

Parents enter the parking lot at the northernmost Arch Terrace entrance and park in the angled parking spaces. The children walk to their cars under the direction of the student safety patrol.
