GO! St. Louis Read, Right, & Run Marathon

Go! St. Louis Read, Right & Run Marathon Little Flower is excited to be part of the Go! St. Louis Read, Right, & Run Marathon this year. Launched in 2001 this program quickly gained national recognition, most recently recognized by RUNNING USA as the “2013 Youth Program of the Year.” The program’s goal is to develop reading-proficient, community-minded and physically fit children in grades K-5 by challenging them to READ 26 books, RIGHT the community with 26 good deeds, and RUN 26.2 miles over a six-month period. It is a standards-based, sustainable, enrichment program that endorses and supports existing school curriculum.

Bellarmine Speech League

Bellarmine Speech League This speech league has been enhancing our students’ public speaking skills for more than 60 years. Students practice and improve their public speaking skills through out the year by memorizing material in several different categories and compete in four Speech Meets, with teams from other schools, during the school year including a final competition at the end of the year, in which trophies are awarded to the top 20% of participants, of which our students traditionally finish with high honors.

Little Flower Sports

Girls on the Run

Students and teachers Little Flower is proud to be a part of Girls on the Run® , an organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. This group meets twice a week in small teams of 8-20 girls, where they’re taught life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The 24-lesson curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches and includes three parts: understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large. At each season’s conclusion, the girls and their running buddies complete a 5k running event which gives them a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. The result—making the seemingly impossible, possible, and teaching girls that they can.
