The purpose of the Little Flower School Board is to advise and support the pastor and administration of the Little Flower Parish in making policy for the school and to serve as liaison between the pastor, administration and the Little Flower Catholic School community. Our School Board meetings are open to the community and are held every month on the third Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
Please feel free to e-mail us at
[email protected] for information about meetings or if you have any questions, concerns or ideas. School Board minutes can be found on SchoolSpeak under Announcements.
Principal
Gloria Openlander
Gloria has taught in public and Catholic schools for twelve years and has over 25 years of administrative and leadership experience. Besides being a St. Ambrose parishioner, she is a mother of two adult children, and grandmother of three.
Her favorite things to do are cooking for family, reading, walking, and vacationing in Italy! She is very impressed in how dedicated the Little Flower community is to providing a successful program for the parish and school.
She is honored and excited to serve the Little Flower Community, especially the children. Being part of a parish family that believes in investing in the church’s youth through education is a journey full of blessings! The opportunity to team with a dedicated pastor, parish, and school community to provide school families with excellent education programs for the present and the future is a responsibility that she accepts whole heartily.
Dan Schibig, President
Dan Schibig and his wife Jean Flanagan have been parishioners at Little Flower since 1997. They have two children attending Little Flower School and one graduate of Little Flower. Their children are the 3rd generation of their family to attend the school. Dan has been the President of the Parish Council, member of the Strategic Steering committee and is an active member of the Men’s Club.
Michelle Basi, Vice President
Michelle and her husband Mark have been active members of the Little Flower parish since 2011 and currently have three children who attend the school. Michelle is an attorney and shareholder at Tueth Keeney Cooper Mohan & Jackstadt, P.C., where she represents public school districts and private schools with respect to board governance, personnel, and student matters. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and supporting her kids in their various activities -- as well as spending time with the supportive and fun Little Flower community.
Bridget Hormberg, Secretary
Bridget is a parishioner and mother to Ava, a second grader at Little Flower School. Bridget and Ava became a part of the Little Flower community a little over 4 years ago. Upon moving into the neighborhood and joining the Little Flower community, Bridget was overwhelmed by the support and love from the parish and school, especially the parents of Ava’s friends. Bridget is the co-owner/co-founder of Blue Stars Therapy, a small therapy practice focused on serving young children and families affected by autism spectrum disorder. When not working, Bridget is helping coach Ava in soccer, walking her adorable dog, Tiger, around the neighborhood, cheering on the Missouri Tigers (alma-mater), and participating in all the fun functions Little Flower has to offer. Bridget is looking forward to serving Little Flower School as a member on school board.
Lauren Milford
Lauren Milford has two children at Little Flower. She and her husband Tom joined the parish after feeling so welcomed by the Little Flower community when Teddy started PK3 at the school. Lauren is editor of theSTL.com, the digital hub for the #STLMade movement. When she's not working, she loves to read, work out and travel. Lauren is honored to serve on the school board.
Billy Dunaway
Billy and his family moved to St. Louis and were given a warm welcome to the Little Flower community. Billy is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where he teaches ethics, social and political philosophy, and philosophy of law.
